Planting Churches

burnt hickory bartow

BH Bartow is a ministry of BH Marietta. We carry the same mission, vision and culture of BH Marietta “to be a joyful church, led by the Spirit, equipping people in Northwest Georgia to be disciples, make disciples and plant churches.” We started meeting weekly for worship in Cartersville on September 9, 2018. Beginning on January 12, 2020, the new Bartow Campus opened at Hamilton Plaza, 10 Hamilton Blvd NW, Cartersville, GA  30120. Worship service begins at 10:00 a.m. with Bible class for all ages following about 10:45 a.m. We also have Small Groups that meet regularly throughout Bartow County! We’d love a chance to get to know you!

We believe that kids are the church of TODAY. Burnt Hickory Kids lead the church in taking the next step every day. We believe that kids have the capacity to walk intimately with God, and we love to see them learn about Him and connect with Him through Bible stories, songs, and crafts.

Real teens doing life with Jesus.

Living a lifestyle where God takes center stage can sometimes be tough - especially in middle and high school. The Burnt Hickory Youth Group is a safe place to explore your faith alongside other people your age who just want to do the same.

Our "Preschool Family" offers children a loving environment to meet new friends, learn new skills, and get ready for elementary school.  Our teachers are well-trained, have many years of experience, and work together with parents to provide the very best early education for each student.

Discipleship Groups are designed to develop a deeper knowledge of the Bible, strengthen relationships, and bring new people to know God. Each group will consist of 3-5 men or women which meet on a weekly basis with the goal in mind of becoming stronger disciples of Jesus and learning how to go make more disciples of others. These groups are usually closed to others, but new groups are continually being formed.

The Men’s Ministry seeks to disciple and equip men in their roles as men of God, whether married, single, older, or younger. We seek to provide a venue for modeling the life of Christ to men. We seek to do this through teaching, fellowship, and service; providing opportunity for fostering spiritual friendships and developing discipling relationships, so that men can grow in conformity to Christ, specifically in their roles as men.

Burnt Hickory missions exist to see God glorified through the image of Christ in every mission location. To provide for both spiritual and physical needs through our mission work and to make a commitment of significant resources to sponsored missionaries and outreaches.

Our Connect Groups are family oriented groups which meet either on Sunday night or during the week. These groups are for building up relationships among families and to give opportunities for people to meet more than just Sunday mornings. We want to develop more small groups in communities where people can have a Bible study near their homes. Anyone wanting to join or lead a small group is encouraged to contact the church office.

In the Women's Ministry, we commit to providing opportunities that strengthen your knowledge of God.

This is our sincerest desire and your most powerful weapon in the world today — as a woman in any season of life.

Women of all ages and walks of life who are looking for a place to belong and a place to build lasting relationships with other women will find what they are looking for at Burnt Hickory Church of Christ. Bible studies, service opportunities, retreats and activities all have one goal in mind--to bind women together for encouragement and for a closer walk with God. The Women's Ministry provides opportunities for the involvement of all women in the areas which best use their gifts.

worship ministry

The heartbeat of our worship ministry is to inspire people to encounter God. John 4:24 says that God is "seeking" or looking for true, authentic worshipers and this is the reason we desire to be a worshiping church. We want people to live a lifestyle of worship unto God on a daily basis, and we want to put Jesus at the center of our corporate gatherings.

joy group

(just older youth)

The Joy Group ministry is comprised of our senior members and visitors age 55 and older. However, we won't turn anyone away! It is our mission to plan engaging activities once a month. These social events include movie nights, road trips, and dinner parties. The Joy Group motto consists of three objectives: Food, Fun and Fellowship. Our ministry provides an opportunity for senior members to gather together in a relaxed atmosphere and build valued relationships. The Joy Group is also a wonderful way for new senior members to build friendships. We encourage everyone in The Joy Group to invite their friends, neighbors, and co-workers and join us for some FUN!

John 12:26

26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
