  • Ms. Beth Tidwell - Children's Minister and Head of School

    Ms. Beth and her family have been part of the Bright Beginnings family since 2009 with her daughters, Brylee and Bristal. Over six years ago, she joined our staff as an assistant teacher and then was the lead teacher in the first-ever kindergarten class. Having served two years as Director, with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education and five years' experience as a second-grade teacher, Ms. Beth is tackling the position of Children's Minister and Head of School. Ms. Beth has a true passion for teaching children and leadership and feels it is a calling that God placed on her heart that she is now able to apply both from a ministry standpoint and as Head of School, working alongside Lauren in the administrator role. She also enjoys cooking, camping, and making Pintrest projects and recipes with her family. 

  • MRs. lauren barber - preschool administrator and assistant children's minister

    Mrs. Lauren has a long standing relationship with Bright Beginnings as both a parent and staff member. Her son graduated from preschool here after attending throughout the entire program, and her daughter is a current student. She has taught MMO, three's and Pre-K in the past, and is excited to be continuing in her role as administrator. Earning an Associates Degree in Business Administration, along with Child Development Associate and Preschool Director certificates has prepared her for this adventure. She, husband, Corey, and children, Isaac, Marley, and Amelia are actively involved with Burnt Hickory where she has been a member for 18 years. "Seeing the growth of students, socially and emotionally, as well as academically" is one of her favorite parts about working with preschoolers. "I love their excitement over learning!" In her spare time, she loves reading and spending time with her big family. 

  • Mrs. Denise roberson - Prek Lead Teacher

    Denise comes to us with years of experience in working with young children both at church and in the preschool setting. She has taught in three's, two's, MMO, and now Pre-K at Bright Beginnings. The joy of watching how quickly a child grows and learns is what keeps bringing her back to the classroom. In her time outside of school Mrs. Denise love to camp and hike with her husband Adam and is kept busy by her six children and two grandchildren!

  • Mrs. Kacey Patton - PreK Assistant Teacher

    Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, Kacey is no stranger to our community. She lives here with her husband, Marty, and her 16 year old son and 5 year old daughter. She "feels so blessed to be a part of Bright Beginnings for the 3rd consecutive year and hopes to enjoy many more." In her time outside of school she loves to spend time with family and friends tubing, having cook outs, and taking trips to the beach or mountains.

  • Mrs. Cheri Milne - 3 Year Old's Lead Teacher

    With 17 years of experience in the childcare setting, Mrs. Cheri is happy to be here for her fourth year with Bright Beginnings. She and her husband Patrick are celebrating 18 years of marriage and have two children. Shelton is 17 years old and a senior at Harrison High School, and Corrina is 13 years old and in 7th grade at Durham Middle School. In her spare time Mrs. Cheri enjoys long distance running, hiking, camping, or any outdoor activity. She also loves to read and spend time with her family.

  • Mrs. Iris Amaya - 3 Year Old's Lead Teacher

    Born in Managua, Nicaragua and raised in South Florida, Mrs. Iris brings a rich cultural background and some really fun Spanish lessons to the classroom! She has always had a passion for working with children and feels “blessed to have the opportunity to work at Bright Beginnings.” She is married to Jimmy, who is the love of her life. Their beautiful children are Isaac (8) and Sophie (4), who is a student here in our Pre-K class.  

  • Ms. MaryKyle Bartlett - 3 year Old's Assistant teacher

    Ms. MaryKyle is very excited to be a part of our BB team as she takes a year off of school and saves for college. She plans to attend Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where she enjoys spending the summer working as a counselor at Camp Wyldewood. In her spare time she loves to read, draw, and paint. She also enjoys biking, hiking, or doing anything outdoors. She is the oldest sibling in her family with three younger brothers, her awesome parents, a dog, and a flock of chickens! She has always loved working with kids and hopes to one day become a high school history teacher. 

  • Mrs. Natalie Polutta - 2 year old's lead teacher

    While this is her first year at Bright Beginnings, Mrs. Natalie is no stranger to working in education! She homeschooled her two daughters, Lauren (23) and Rachel (19), taught history to third-sixth graders at a fine arts school for 14 years, and spent some time working in her church’s preschool before she was married. She and her husband Michael are looking forward to celebrating their 28th year of marriage this year! Michael and Natalie are both integral parts of individual ministries here at Burnt Hickory.

  • Ms. Ashley Camacho - 2 year old's Assistant teacher

    Mrs. Ashley comes to us with experience in teaching Pre-K and having partially completed her degree in middle grades education at Kennesaw State University. Her favorite part of teaching is seeing her students learn a new concept for the first time. As a part-time executive assistant, house cleaner, and professional organizer, she loves to stay busy and work in a way that allows her to be with her family. Her daughter Isabella is now a student here at BB in the Pre-K class. She has been married to her husband Paul, who is a Cobb County Firefighter, for 6 years. As a family they love to go to the park, have frozen yogurt dates, and spend time watching Dad on the softball field.  

  • Mrs. Aubrey Bracegirdle - MMO (Mother's morning out) Teacher

    As a Christian wife and mom, Mrs. Aubrey saw working at Bright Beginnings as the perfect opportunity to help her girls learn and grow while maintaining the close bond that led her to be a stay at home mom. She enjoys spending time playing outside and having Harry Potter movie marathons with her husband, Justin, and her daughters, Bexley and Laikyn. We are excited to have them both as Bright Beginnings students in our MMO and two year old classes this year!

  • Mrs. janette melson - music and enrichment teacher

    Music teacher at Bright Beginnings since 2011, she also owns her own business, Lifelong Learning, which enables her to teach piano lessons to all ages, and enrichment classes to preschoolers. She loves teaching preschoolers because of their innate joy and the funny things they say. “Teaching these precious children always puts me in a good mood.” She also enjoys reading and writing (but not arithmetic) and hopes to publish some of her fiction. She has written six of the preschool’s musical programs used for Christmas and Graduation. She has a B.S. degree in English/journalism from Tennessee Tech, where she met her husband, Will, more than thirty years ago. Members at Burnt Hickory, they have two children, Nikki and John, and two granddaughters, Layna and Sadie Jane.
